Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
This Pulled pork is great for family dinner and many other recipes. It is a little sweet and full of flavor. It is tender and melts in your mouth.
Prep Time 10 Mins
Cook Time 8-10 Hours
Total 8-10 Hours
Ingredients
1 large pork shoulder butt
1 cup apple juice
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon paprika
1 Tablespoon mustard powder
1 Teaspoon onion powder
1 Teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 bottle of BBQ sauce
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine all spices
On a flat surface, rub all the spices onto all sides of the pork
Add the coated pork into the slow cooker and add the apple juice.
Cook on high for 6-8 hours or on low for 8-10 hours ( low recommended).
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred.
Save the juice from the pork.
Once pork is shredded, add it back to the slow cooker to keep warm
With the saved juice, add it to a large saucepan and add the brown sugar. Let the juice reduce till it becomes thicker.
Add the reduced juice back to the pork and give it a good mix.
Optional- add BBQ sauce to pork, mix, and serve.
(This pork can be used for many different recipes. I don’t always add the BBQ sauce to the whole batch, so that way I can use it for other recipes).
